(May 26, 2017)-  Cape Coral Police Detectives made an arrest in a January Home Invasion...Turns out the suspect was already in jail.

This was a follow-up arrest by Cape Coral Police Department Major Crimes Unit detectives.

On January 17 2017, the victim reported to Cape Coral Police that two males entered his apartment through the rear door and robbed him at gunpoint threatening to kill him. One of the males was wearing a mask with a "skeleton teeth" print on it.  Detectives developed Cameron Duffy as a suspect in the robbery.

On March 1st, officers from the Patrol Bureau and K9 Unit found a mask with a similar "skeleton teeth" print on it during a traffic stop involving Duffy’s vehicle. The victim was shown the mask and positively identified it as the mask worn by the suspect. Detectives established witnesses for the robbery and obtained a search warrant for Cameron Duffy’s phone, leading to evidence that he was involved in the robbery.

Duffy was already in custody at the Lee County Jail and Detectives charged him with Robbery-Home Invasion with a Firearm.

The case remains under investigation.
