(June 30, 2017)- Cape Coral Police Detectives have arrested two men in connection with the shooting death of 19 year-old Nicholas Goffar last night in the 2100 block of Kismet Parkway W.
Detectives worked throughout the night and all day, interviewing witnesses and locating suspects. The investigation revealed that the victim went to a residence just north of Kismet Parkway, located at 2205 NW 24 Terrace, to purchase a large quantity of marijuana. During the transaction, Goffar attempted to steal the marijuana and exchanged gunfire with two suspects, Julio Dominguez, W/M, DOB: 06-24-1991, of 906 SE 26 Terrace, Cape Coral and Grenier Dominguez, W/M, DOB: 12-14-1997, of 711 NW 18 Place, Cape Coral. The suspects chased Goffar from the residence, continuing to shoot at him, striking him twice in the back. The suspect then got into a truck and drove to where Goffar lay mortally wounded, and retrieved the marijuana. They then pointed their guns at an unnamed witness, placing that person in immediate fear for their safety and fled the area in the vehicle.
Detectives have arrested Julio Dominguez on charges of 2nd Degree Murder and Aggravated Assault. Grenier Dominguez was arrested on charges of Accessory After the Fact for 2nd Degree Murder and Aggravated Assault. Both have been transported to the Lee County Jail.
Additional search warrants in connection to this case have been executed and should there be any additional information that is of significant public interest, additional updates will be provided as that information becomes available.
