(June 5, 2017)- A traffic stop for speed of over 100 miles an hour ended with an arrest for drug charges.
Last night at around 11:30 PM, officers were running radar at the 1100 block of Pondella Road, when a black Mercedes Benz that was traveling westbound, was clocked at 106 MPH in a 45 MPH zone. Officers also saw the driver run the red light at Pine Island Road and Del Prado Boulevard.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and the driver, Chanda Brown, immediately exited her vehicle claiming she was trying to catch up to her boyfriend. Brown was issued citations for the speed and running the red light and gave consent to a search of her vehicle.
During the vehicle search, a glass Marijuana pipe with residue was found inside of the glove box. Additionally, officers found 2 Morphine pills, 1 Hydromorphone pill and 1 Xanax pill inside of Brown’s wallet. Brown did not have a prescription for any of the pills.
Officers arrested Brown for 3 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance without Prescription and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
ARRESTED: Chanda Brown, W/F, DOB: 09-10-1971, of 776 Friendly Street N. Fort Myers, FL.
CHARGES: Possession of a Controlled Substance without Prescription (x3), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
