(July 7, 2017) - At approximately 9:50 a.m. this morning, the Cape Coral Police Department responded to a small plane crash that occurred at the 1500 block of Miramar Street, south of Cape Coral Parkway.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene which involved a small single occupant aircraft. The Cape Coral Fire Department, Lee County EMS, and the Lee County Sheriff's Office were on scene. The sole occupant and pilot of the plane was transported to a local hospital, at first with minor injuries but later upgraded to a trauma alert.
