(July 16, 2017)-  The Cape Coral Police Department conducted a High Visibility Enforcement (HVE) operation last night, as part of its ongoing efforts to reduce incidents of impaired driving.  The operation was funded by grant money awarded by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

The results of the operations are below:

  • Total Traffic Stops: 28
  • Arrests: 0
  • Warnings: 4
  • Speed Citations: 9

Overall, traffic was reduced last night due to severe weather in the area.  Officers were surprised to see taxis and ride-sharing services were still being used in spite of the rain.  They also noticed that many parking lots of bars still had vehicles in them after hours.
