(August 10, 2017) -  A keen of hearing citizen called in the sound of glass breaking, and Cape Coral Police patrol officers caught the burglar in the act.

On August 9th, 2017 at around 8:25pm, Cape Coral Police patrol officers responded to the 400 block of NE 23rd Terrace after a nearby resident called in the sound of glass breaking. Officers located a home with a shattered rear slider and found Nickolas Williams (DOB: 4-30-91) inside. Williams was carrying a watch and a Minecraft video game. Further investigation determined Williams had broken the slider with a brick (a real one, not a virtual Minecraft brick), and attempted to steal the watch and video game. 

Williams was arrested for unarmed unoccupied burglary of a dwelling, petit theft and criminal mischief, and was transported to the Lee County Jail. 

ARRESTED: Nickolas Wade Williams, W/M, DOB: 4-30-1991, of 500 NW 20th Terrace,Cape Coral FL.

CHARGES: Burglary of a Dwelling, Petit Theft, Criminal Mischief
