(December 31, 2018)- On December 29th through the early morning hours of December 30th, 2018, the Cape Coral Police Department conducted a High Visibility Enforcement operation focused on detecting impaired drivers. Below are the results of the operation:
Cape Coral Police conducted a traffic stop on D’Agosta and the officer smelled cannabis emitting from within the vehicle. A search revealed THC Oil and a cannabis in the center console. D’Agosta was arrested and later transferred Lee County Jail.
Cape Coral Police stopped the vehicle Barletta III was driving due to operating in an erratic matter which almost resulted in a traffic crash. Further investigation revealed an odor of cannabis emitting from within the vehicle and that Barletta III had indicators of impairment. Additionally, his FL DL expired in 2007 and he also had a baggie of cannabis in his pants pocket (less than 20 grams). Barletta III also had an outstanding warrant for failure to pay his child support. Barletta III was arrested. BREATH: Refused.
Cape Coral Police conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle Klaric was driving for failing to maintain a single lane and striking a raised concrete curve. Klaric exhibited indicators of impairment and a DUI investigation ensued. Klaric was arrested for DUI. BREATH: Refused.
Cape Coral Police stopped the vehicle Hill was driving for passing in a designated turn lane. Signs of impairment were present which resulted in an arrest for DUI. During a search of Hill, a plastic grinder with cannabis residue was located in his pants pocket. Hill also actively resisted the efforts of officers to restrain him and he was charged with resisting an officer without violence. BREATH: Refused.
Cape Coral Police stopped the vehicle Bermudez was driving for committing a traffic violation. During contact with Bermudez, he showed signs of impairment and a DUI investigation ensued. Bermudez, during arrest, resisted officers. BREATH: Refused.
