(February 9, 2018) - Cape Coral Police responded to a string of overnight vehicle burglaries and quickly developed a suspect as well as probable cause for his arrest.
On February 8th at approximately 10:50 a.m. officers responded to the 2700 block of SW Embers Terrace for a series of unlocked vehicle burglaries. Multiple key fobs were taken from one of the vehicles. Officers and detectives with the Property Crime Unit quickly developed a suspect in Jameson Topps (DOB: 12-26-01). Contact was made with Topps and his mother at their residence. Topps' mother granted permission for a search of her son's room, and the key fobs were found in plain sight on a dresser.
Probable cause was established for the arrest of Jameson Topps on charges of burglary and grand theft, as well as violation of an already established probation curfew. Topps was transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
