(March 16, 2018) - The Cape Coral Police Department made two separate arrests for drugs along the Del Prado Boulevard corridor last night. Below is the information on these arrests:

ARRESTED: Ryan Ernest Sheehan, W/M, DOB: 6-8-74, of 13353 N. Cleveland Ave, North Fort Myers FL.

CHARGES: Drug Trafficking (2 Counts), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

A Cape Coral Police Officer assigned to the Mobile Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop for a stop sign violation at the 1000 block of Del Prado Boulevard South. Contact with Sheehan resulted in the discovery of a pill bottle Sheehan attempted to conceal under his leg. Inside the bottle were two types of prescription pills that were not prescribed to Sheehan. Sheehan was also in possession of a marijuana grinder and $1,161 in cash. He was arrested and transported to the Lee County Jail.

ARRESTED: Ashton Douglas Morrison, W/M, DOB: 6-8-97, of 4145 Yarmouth Court, North Fort Myers FL.

CHARGES: Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Sell, Possession of Marijuana Under 20 Grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Controlled Substance Without Prescription

While on patrol, an officer in training and his Field Training officer observed two vehicles parked in front of the closed Walgreens located at 6 Del Prado Boulevard North. The officers saw a male subject standing next to a car full of people. As they approached, the male attempted to walk away and enter the closed business. Several other occupants exited the vehicle and attempted to walk away as well. Upon contact, the smell of marijuana was immediately recognizable and the subjects were detained for a narcotics investigation.

A K-9 Officer and his K-9 arrived and conducted an open-air sniff on both vehicles, alerting on both. Investigation revealed one subject to be in possession of a small baggie of marijuana; this person was released from the scene with a Notice to Appear. Further investigation showed that Ashton Morrison (DOB: 6-8-97) was in possession of marijuana, baggies that matched the baggie the released subject had, a scale, a pipe, and hard edible candies that tested positive for THC. Morrison was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana under 20 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to sell, and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription for the THC/marijuana edibles. He was transported to the Lee County Jail.
