(March 21, 2018) - The Cape Coral Police Department made three DUI arrests between March 12-21, 2018. Below is the information on these arrests:
Officers responded to a traffic crash at the 5800 block of Chiquita Boulevard South where Smiley was located passed out behind the wheel. He was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. During an inventory of the vehicle the following items were found in the center console: a Glock 19 handgun; a bag containing 41.3 grams of cocaine under the handgun; a bag containing 14.3 grams of crack cocaine; and two small baggies containing 15.3 grams of marijuana. Smiley was transported to the Lee County Jail after receiving medical attention. BAC%: Refused.
A caller advised that Stoops was in his Camaro at the 100 block of Cape Coral Parkway West blocking a parked vehicle and stating that he was waiting for his wife. An officer responded and after speaking with Stoops determined that Stoops was impaired. Stoops also had a suspended license and refused the breath test while having a prior refusal on his license. He was transported to the Lee County Jail. BAC%: Refused.
Officer responded to a traffic crash at the 2600 block of Del Prado Boulevard South. This led to an investigation for DUI and Welling's arrest. She was transported to the Lee County Jail. BAC%: .210
