(April 30, 2018)-  Cape Coral Police Detectives are investigating an online threat against a school.

Early this morning, Cape Coral Police received out-of-state information regarding a threat made against "Oasis Charter Elementary School" made in an in-video-game chat session.  Detectives are still working to determine the origin, specificity, and credibility of the threat.  At this time there is no specific, credible threat and the scheduled school day will proceed as normal.

As a precautionary measure, Cape Coral Police will have additional uniformed presence on campus throughout the day.

"The Cape Coral Police Department takes all threats against schools seriously.  We are working diligently to investigate, while at the same time maintaining a safe and orderly learning environment at our schools.  Out of an overabundance of caution, parents and students will see an increased uniformed police presence on the Oasis campuses throughout the day."
