(June 25, 2018)- Two arrests made in Home Invasion Robbery where two victims were pistol whipped.
On June 15, at approximately 5pm, Patrol Officers responded to the 600-block of SE 17th Terrace. The victim reported that he had just been robbed at gunpoint by two unknown black male suspects at his residence.
The victim was sitting in his living room when Antonio Davis (B/M, DOB: 01/30/1984 of Lehigh Acres) and Carlos McSwain (B/M, DOB: 12/24/1988 of Ft. Myers) entered his residence while holding handguns. The victim was told not to move or he would be killed.
Two other people in the residence were also robbed. The victim yelled at Davis and McSwain to leave the house but they began pistol-whipping and kicking two of the victim's while they were on the ground.
Davis and McSwain were able to forcibly remove two prescription medication bottles, cash, and jewelry from the victim’s. As the suspects were in the driveway the victim grabbed his shotgun, ran after Davis and McSwain and shot at their vehicle. Davis and McSwain were not hit by the gunfire.
The Cape Coral Police Department Major Crimes Unit finished their detailed investigation and requested the assistance of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force to locate and apprehend Davis and McSwain.
The US Marshals Fugitive Task Force made contact Davis on June 21 and McSwain on June 22 at separate locations within Lee County. Both were taken into custody and later taken to Lee County Jail. Davis was charged with home invasion robbery with a firearm and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. McSwain was charged with home invasion robbery with a firearm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
