Investigation concluded on June 30, 2018.
On April 5, 2018 the Cape Coral Police Department responded to the 4800 block of Manor Court in reference to a disturbance with injuries involving two cars. The disturbance was between husband and wife that had been separated for more than a year.
An investigation determined that Donny Ray Crecelius (W/M, DOB: 10/22/1957, of Cape Coral) was driving a pickup, followed the victim to her new address from work and when she got the house he pulled in the driveway next to her. Donnie got out of the truck, opened her driver’s door attempting to punch her but missed and grabbed her arm trying to pull her out of the car. When he was unsuccessful getting her out of the car, Donnie got back in his truck, drove down the street, turned around and drove straight at the victim while traveling north in the southbound lanes of Manor Court. The vehicles collided head on.
The Cape Coral Police Department Major Crimes Unit and Traffic Unit began their investigation. The Major Crimes Unit arrested Donny Crecelius who received medical care at a local hospital and was later transferred to the Lee County Jail.
