(August 10, 2018) - The Cape Coral Police Department made eighteen DUI arrests between July 23-August 9, 2018. Below is the information on these arrests:
Officers responded to a domestic disturbance at 1708 Cape Coral Parkway West (Overtime Sports Bar) and located the male half in the parking lot attempting to drive away in his work van. Upon making contact officers determined Williams was severely intoxicated and began a DUI investigation resulting in his arrest. Williams vomited in the officer’s car as well as in his holding cell. Officers responded to a single vehicle traffic crash into a power pole at the 1400 block of SW Pine Island Road. Upon contact with the driver (Calvetti), signs of impairment were observed. Calvetti performed poorly on field sobriety exercises and was arrested for DUI. BAC%: Refused.
A CCPD Patrol officer stopped Karch at the 3700 block of Del Prado Boulevard South for a red-light violation. Upon contact, Karch exhibited signs of impairment which led to a DUI investigation. March performed poorly on field sobriety exercises and he was arrested for DUI. BAC%: .108 / .104
Officers responded to a hit and run crash with property damage at the 500 block of SW 39th Terrace. An officer followed the trail of radiator fluid to the 4000 block of SW 7th Place, where Helmodallar was found hiding underneath his vehicle with the vehicle keys on his person. The vehicle had fresh damage and was still leaking radiator fluid. A mostly empty bottle of vodka was sitting on the hood of his vehicle. Helmodallar showed obvious signs of impairment, and refused to participate in field sobriety exercises or a breath test. BAC%: Refused.
Simpson was stopped for driving on the wrong side of the road at the 1300 block of Hancock Bridge Parkway. Simpson exhibited signs of impairment and performed very poorly on field sobriety exercises which led to his arrest. BAC%: Refused.
Officers responded to a suspicious circumstances call near Veterans and Kamal Parkways, where contact was made with Feliciano. Feliciano was alone, in close proximity to his motorcycle, and still wearing his helmet. Feliciano asked the officers for assistance in picking his motorcycle up off the ground and exhibited signs of impairment, which led to a DUI investigation. Feliciano performed poorly on field sobriety exercises and was placed under arrest. BAC%: Refused.
A CCPD Patrol officer stopped Gonzales for following too closely at the 1600 block of SE 15th Terrace, which led to a DUI investigation. Gonzales performed very poorly on field sobriety exercises and was placed under arrest for DUI. BAC%: .178 / .180
Officers responded to a disturbance and observed Sandford attempting to drive away from the scene. Sandford exhibited signs of impairment, and a DUI investigation concluded that Sanford was impaired while driving. BAC%: .102 / .102
A CCPD K9 Officer located a reckless driver at the 1600 block of Embers Parkway and observed several traffic violations. Backup officers arrived on scene and assumed the investigation. LeFande was determined to be driving under the influence, and a vehicle search incident to arrest led to the discovery of a small amount of marijuana. BAC%: Refused.
Marrero could not maintain his lane of travel at the 600 block of Diplomat Parkway East and almost struck the CCPD officer's vehicle. At the conclusion of a DUI investigation, Marrero was found to be impaired. BAC%: .183 / .172
Officers responded to a residence in the 2900 block of NW 17th Terrace for a burglar alarm. Leaf was located in the rear lanai. Her vehicle was found in the front yard with minor damage. The homeowner had live security video showing that Leaf was the only person that came out of the vehicle and that she tried several doors to the residence. BAC%: Refused.
Orta-Suarez was stopped at the 500 block of Veterans Memorial Parkway East for driving erratically. Contact with Orta-Suarez led to a DUI investigation and his arrest. BAC%: .243 / .241
Officers responded to a disturbance at Kinnett's residence where she had left in the other party's vehicle. The other party did not wish to press charges for the vehicle being taken. However, Kinnett returned to the house in the vehicle while officers were on scene and was found to be impaired. BAC%: .159 / .151
Officers responded to a reckless driving call involving a silver Hummer at the 2000 block of Santa Barbara Boulevard South. Officers located the vehicle and stopped Santos for speeding and an equipment violation. Upon contact, Santos exhibited signs of impairment. Santos performed poorly on field sobriety exercises and was placed under arrest for DUI. BAC%: .144 / .147
Beaver was stopped for driving eastbound in the westbound lanes at the 1700 block of Cape Coral Parkway East through an unrelated crash investigation, leading to her arrest for DUI. BAC%: .240 / .220
A citizen observed Flynn driving erratically, running over a stop sign and driving over a sidewalk. The citizen then followed Flynn updating dispatch on his location until officers arrived. The ensuing DUI investigation led to Flynn's arrest. BAC%: Refused.
While investigating a three-vehicle crash at the 800 block of Veterans Memorial Parkway East, officers determined Aura had been driving while intoxicated. BAC%: .189 / .183
Fossett was stopped for failing to maintain a single lane at the 3200 block of Santa Barbara Boulevard South. Upon contact, Fossett exhibited signs of impairment and a DUI investigation began. SFSTs were Fossett performed poorly on field sobriety exercises and was arrested. BAC%: .140 / .137
