(September 27, 2018)-  On September 22, 2018 the Cape Coral Police Department Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) team competed in the 16th Annual Region 6 SWAT competition hosted by Manatee County Sheriff’s Office. The following agencies competed in the event:  Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, Bradenton Police Department, Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, Sarasota Police Department, Highlands County Sheriff’s Office, North Port Police Department, Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, Fort Myers Police Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Collier County Sheriff’s Office, and Cape Coral Police Department.

After four grueling events the Cape Coral Police Department team finished 3rd overall. The Cape Coral Police Department SWAT team continues to train at a very high level and their commitment was illustrated during this competition. A select group of SWAT operators from the Cape Coral Police Department had been involved in additional training for weeks before this completion in efforts to prepare them for the difficult tactical events. We would also like to thank Shoot Center of Cape Coral for sponsorship and Cape Coral Cross-fit and Cape Coral High School for their facilities to enhance training.
