(July 4, 2019) - The following are the Cape Coral Police Department’s DUI arrests between June 28th and July 3rd, 2019. This edition contains two persons more than twice the legal limit, vehicles driven through bushes and onto sidewalks, two in possession of illegal drugs who were also determined to be under the influence of drugs while driving, a speeder doing twice the speed limit, and one who fought with and battered a police officer.
The easiest way to not get a DUI is to NOT drive impaired. If you are going out to partake in adult beverages, designate a sober driver or utilize an alternate form of transportation: Uber, Lyft, taxi, bus, etc. Don’t take the chance of ruining a life, including your own. Also as a reminder, the Cape Coral Police Department will be hosting a multi-jurisdictional DUI Sobriety Checkpoint sometime this upcoming weekend. For more information on the checkpoint, see our release here.
