On August 13, 2019 at around 2:30pm Cape Coral Police Officers responded to a disturbance in the 600 Block of SE 23rd St. An elderly woman’s son, who is a Lee County Deputy, (off-duty) stopped by her house. While her son/Deputy was the house, an argument between the son and grandson began. The elderly female left the house and went to a neighbor’s house to call the police.
When Officers arrived on scene, they found the grandson was unresponsive. After checking the grandson’s condition, Officers found that he was not breathing. All lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful. A death investigation began. The son was taken to the Cape Coral Police Station to be interviewed. The grandson was taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office. At this time the son has been interviewed. This is an ongoing investigation pending an autopsy, toxicology report and forensic evidence.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office was notified about the death investigation.
