Juvenile Steals Car, Crashes, and Gets Away...For Only Two Days

(March 22, 2019)- On March 19, 2019, Cape Coral Police responded to call for service of suspicious activity in the area of the 200-block NE 21st PL involving two juveniles potentially trying door handles to vehicles in the neighborhood.  The two juveniles were seen leaving the neighborhood in a red colored Ford Escape.

Officers patrolled the surrounding neighborhood for vehicle burglaries and the red Ford Escape was seen running into a mailbox located 227 Northeast 22nd Avenue where an officer was able to see the driver. Officers were able to set up a perimeter to locate the subjects and the vehicle. The Ford Escape was located in the driveway of 2432 Northeast 4th Terrace.  The suspects were initially not located.

During the investigation of the call for service, the owner of the Ford Escape had gotten up and when he looked outside he discovered that his Ford Escape was missing and he immediately contacted Cape Coral Police Department to report the vehicle had been stolen. Due to the extent of the crimes, Detective Niland from the Property Crimes Unit was assigned the case and began to investigate. 

Detective Niland’s investigation revealed, that based upon the location of where the stolen car was recovered and the recent arrests and information of involvement in these types of crimes, Alexander Bradford Majewski (W/M, DOB: 10/02/2003, 113 NE 18th PL) was developed as a suspect. Officer Super had a clear view of the driver of the stolen vehicle checked a photo of Majewski and he identified him as the same exact driver he saw in the stolen vehicle that night. The area where the stolen vehicle was located by officers is in close proximity of Majewski's residence.

On March 21, 2019 around 11:07 AM, Majewski located at his residence and placed under arrest.

Majewski was charged with Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Operating a Vehicle Without a Valid Driver's License.

Majewski was later transferred to the Juvenile Assessment Center.

Women's History Month - Master Sergeant Jennifer Matlock

(March 22, 2019)-    Master Sergeant Jennifer Matlock has been serving the Cape Coral Police Department and the Community since 1997 and is currently assigned to the Patrol Bureau.  

Prior to her current assignment she supervised the Marine Unit, Police Volunteer Unit, School Crossing Guards, Aviation as well as School Resource Officers in the Special Operations Bureau. Preceding her promotion in 2007, she held assignments as a Marine Officer, School Resource Officer, and a Detective in the Professional Standards Bureau. 

Master Sergeant Jennifer Matlock holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Master’s Degree in Abnormal Psychology from International College.

Master Sergeant Jennifer Matlock was awarded CIT Officer of the Year in 2010 from Lee County Nami for her dedication and hard work to Nami and the Community.  In 2015, she was recognized with an Outstanding Volunteer Service Award for her services to Nami for her devotion to Crisis Intervention training in Lee County.  And in 2016, she was awarded a Maritime Service Award from the Lee County Marine Task Force for her hard work and commitment to the program.

Need Help Identifying Man Who Loads His SUV With Items He Stole

(March 21, 2019)- On March 16, 2019, around 6:17 PM, Cape Coral Police responded to a call for service at The Center for Natural Healing at 4632 Vincennes Blvd, in reference to a past occurred theft.

The victim hired Abbey Flooring to install floors at her business and employees from Abbey Flooring moved several items outside of the building door (North side), while they installed the flooring. Several Abbey Flooring employees were inside, but did not witness the crime take place.

Video surveillance from a nearby business shows an older white male, wearing a light blue shirt and dark shorts, taking items that victim described. The male was placing the items inside of a black SUV.
