DUI Arrests - March 13 through 18, 2019

(March 19, 2019)- Cape Coral Police DUI arrests March 13 through 18, 2019.

ARRESTED: Patrick Michael Kelly, W/M, DOB: 09/08/1991, 1917 NE 2nd Ave

CHARGES: DUI with a BAC Over .15, 2-counts of DUI with Property Damage, and DUI with Personal Injury

Cape Coral Police responded to a call for service of a traffic crash with injuries. The investigation determined that the at-fault driver was Kelly who also exhibited indicators of impairment so a DUI investigation ensued. Kelly performed poorly on the field evaluations and was arrested. BREATH: 0.264 / 0.246.

ARRESTED: Karla Lee Bondi, W/F, DOB: 09/05/1958,

3943 SE 11 Place

CHARGES: DUI

Cape Coral Police stopped Bondi for speeding and failing to stop at an intersection. During contact with Bondi, the officer observed signs of impairment so a DUI investigation ensued. Bondi performed poorly on the field evaluations and was arrested. BREATH: 0.097 / 0.099.

ARRESTED: Larry Edward Matthews, W/M, DOB: 02/07/1967,

3943 SE 11 Place

CHARGES: DUI, No Valid DL, False Name to LEO, and Reckless Driving

Cape Coral Police measured the vehicle Matthews was driving going 83-MPH in a posted 35-MPH zone. During contact with Matthews he exhibited indicators of impairment and a DUI investigation ensued. Matthews performed poorly on the field evaluations and was arrested for DUI. Matthews also provided a different name and date of birth during the initial contact. BREATH: 0.024 / 0.022.  Matthews refused to submit to a Drug Influence Evaluation or urine sample.

ARRESTED: Michael Monahan, W/M, DOB: 08/12/1956,

4425 Orchid Blvd

CHARGES: DUI

Cape Coral Police stopped Monahan for failing to stop at a stop sign. During contact with Monahan, he exhibited indicators of impairment and a DUI investigation ensued. Monahan performed poorly on the field evaluations and was arrested for DUI. BREATH: 0.098 / 0.099.

ARRESTED: Reinier Michael Campos-Atension, W/M, DOB: 01/29/1984,

402 NW 20th Terrace

CHARGES: DUI and Reckless Driving

Cape Coral Police stopped Reinier for traveling 65-MPH in a posted 35-MPH construction zone.  Reineir was also driving on a shredded tire on his driver’s side front. During contact with Reinier, he exhibited indicators of impairment and a DUI investigation ensued.  Reinier performed poorly on the field evaluations and he was arrested for DUI. BREATH: Refused.

ARRESTED: Jessica Celeste Sheeran-Quiroz, W/F, DOB: 03/31/1985,

614 NE 3rd Avenue

CHARGES: DUI

Cape Coral Police stopped Sheernan for failure to maintain a lane. Sheeran exhibited indicators of impairment and a DUI investigation ensued. Sheeran performed poorly on the field evaluations and was arrested for DUI. BREATH: 0.196 / 0.184.

ARRESTED: John Kenneth Zimerle, W/M, DOB: 04/22/1961,

1826 SW 28th Terrace

CHARGES: DUI

Officers responded to a minor traffic crash, where it was discovered that Zimerle was showing signs of impairment and a DUI investigation ensued. Zimerle performed poorly on the field evaluations and was arrested for DUI. BREATH: Refused.

ARRESTED: Janel Suarez, W/F, DOB: 09/26/1983,

3736 SW 1st Ave

Charges: DUI, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Suarez was observed driving the wrong way on Santa Barbara Blvd. Indicators of impairment were observed from Suarez so a DUI investigation ensued. Suarez performed poorly of the field evaluations and she was arrested for DUI. BREATH: Refused.

ARRESTED: John Vincent Oquendo, W/M, DOB: 01/13/1985, 128 SE 4th ST

CHARGES: DUI

Oquendo was operating a bicycle traveling westbound in the eastbound designated bicycle travel lane without any mandatory lights. A Cape Coral Policed Sergeant had to avoid hitting Oquendo as he drove into the motor vehicle traffic lane. A traffic stop was conducted, and Oquendo exhibited indicators of impairment so a DUI investigation ensued. Oquendo performed poorly on the field evaluations and was arrested for DUI. BREATH: 0.279 / 0.266.

Women's History Month - School Resource Officer Hailey Tucker

Women's History Month - School Resource Officer Hailey Tucker

(March 19, 2019)-    Officer Hailey Tucker was sponsored through the 139 LEO Academy in July 2015 at the SWFPSA. She was sworn in as a police officer for the City of Cape Coral Police Department in January 2016 and worked as a patrol officer for over two years. Officer Tucker is currently a School Resource Officer for Gulf Elementary School where she oversees more than 1100 students and over 120 school faculty.

Officer Tucker has also been a member of the Cape Coral Police Department's Crisis Negotiation Team since 2018.

Prior to being a Law Enforcement Officer, Officer Tucker was an investigator and supervisor with the Florida Department of Children and Families for more than seven years.

She has a Bachelor's Degree from UF in Anthropology, and a Master's Degree from UCF in Criminal Justice.

Women's History Month - Officer Leslie Dunson

Women's History Month - Officer Leslie Dunson

(March 18, 2019)-    Corporal Leslie Dunson started with Cape Coral Police Department in 2005 where she is currently assigned as, the very busy, desk officer. She has also worked as a patrol officer in the Patrol Bureau.

Before moving to Cape Coral, Corporal Dunson worked as a Trooper with the Ohio State Patrol for eight years.
