Patrol Bureau

The Patrol Bureau is the backbone of the Department. This Bureau is our largest operational component made up of officers involved in every incident, activity and investigation. They are the “face” of the Department; the first line of service to our community. Patrol officers are on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to keep you safe. Patrol officers work 12-hour shifts and are divided into four platoons (two day shifts & two night shifts). Each platoon is made up of a Watch Commander at the rank of Lieutenant, four Sergeants, and approximately 30 Officers. Additional support is provided by Public Service Aides & the Police Volunteer Unit.

CAPTAIN BRAND CHENAULT

Captain Brand Chenault is the Commander of the Patrol Bureau. He’s been with the Department since 1994, and has served in many roles, including a Property Crimes Sergeant, Patrol Sergeant, and was a major asset in the Traffic Unit for many years. He was a proud Marine in the United States military for eight years. Captain Chenault has a Bachelor of Arts in Public Safety Administration.
